Cell phone DIY side by side with Pro Photo.
Here is the difference between using a cell phone photo and hiring a pro (like me).
In the midst of a few day shoot at a dance studio!
Check out the behind the scenes of our setup. Actually have a mix of 5 lights (which sometimes get moved around for different looking shots), and used a seamless paper backdrop, rolled out longways and cut, in order to have longer than 12 ft of width.
The height is still a bit short, but at least it's wide enough that people are not coming off the backdrop on the sides.
The dance photos always require a certain amount of retouching, because camera optics don't allow for the dancers to be always completely on the backdrop (particularly height wise for tall students or jumps), plus the backdrop gets dirty from sequins, dirty dance shoots, and crinkled.
